In order to ensure a better understanding and further compliance with the dti’s Broad-Based Black Economic Empowerment (B-BBEE) Codes of Best Practice and Verification Manual, the Department of Trade and Industry launched the nation’s first-ever interactive B-BBEE Portal, a publicly accessible central database, which features a variety of user-friendly tools to assist South African businesses, including facilities aimed at: Promoting local business opportunities; Reporting B-BBEE fronting; Managing the flow of information to the dti; and Providing a ’self assessment tool’ for companies to gauge their B-BBEE status.

僑務委員會為協助海外對文化創意產業有興趣之僑商及專業人士瞭解我國文化創意產業之政策、發展趨勢及產業特色，特開辦本班，課程包括專家講授、企業參訪及「2008年台灣國際文化創意產業展覽會」觀摩等；本班學員來自全球各地，有助海內外文化創意業者交流，擴展商機，開拓國際通路，請儘早報名，以免向隅。

一、 辦理時間：97年10月20日至10月31日

二、 招收名額：50名

三、 培訓對象：

• （一） 1.在僑居地從事文化創意產業相關工作，有能力且有意願結合台灣文化創意業者，共同進行國際市場行銷者；2. 從事於藝術、文化、創意或設計等相關產業之專業人士，對瞭解台灣文化魅力並應用於產品開發有興趣者；3.有意從事文化創意產業，擬尋找文化創意產品或商機者；
• （二） 年齡在20歲（含）以上，65歲以下，通曉中文，經駐外館處或華僑文教服務中心遴薦報名者，並以近兩年未曾參加僑委會經貿研習班者為優先。

四、 研習內容：實際研習課程11天，研習總時數逾77小時（包括專業課程、專題演講、共同課程、企業參訪暨經營實務講授、學員經驗交流等）；課程預定表可洽駐外館處或華僑文教服務中心。

五、 費用：

• （一） 僑務委員會負擔：研習期間學員之學雜費、午晚餐（週日除外）、住宿費及參訪活動交通費用。
• （二） 學員自理：往返機票、返台後由機場往返研習（報到）地點交通費及其他個人費用。

六、 報名時間：自即日起至97年9月10日止。

七、 報名地點：我國駐外館處或華僑文教服務中心。

僑務委員會中華函授學校於2008年7月25日至12月10日受理2009學年網路報名，8月25日至12月10日受理通訊報名。

2009學年將提供9門學科、65種課程。新增的8個課程中，「中文」、「華語口語與表達」、「華語語法教學」及「多元文化導論」等「華文教師科」課程，係配合海外僑校對華語文師資之殷切需求特別開發；「台灣藝術名家選析」、「唐詩宋詞賞析」及「網頁設計入門」等課程，則屬該校固有的終身學習學程；另該校業規劃由淺入深、循序漸進研編一系列華語學習課程，「入門華語（上）」為其中第一部，將教授注音符號及簡易生活會話，歡迎海外學齡兒童或初學華語的成人選讀。

該校於2009學年除賡續提供函授服務，以協助偏遠地區僑胞進行終身學習，在網路學習部分，將深化線上互動學習功能及社群服務機制。基於此一信念，自2009學年起凡同一時區經由網路修習同一課程人數達30人者，該校將視預算編列情形及課程需要聘請講座，專為該時區選課同學辦理線上同步互動教學活動。

The Department of Trade and Industry’s (the dti’s) Leather and Footwear Sector Strategy seeks to provide a regulatory framework for the South African leather and footwear economic priority sectors. The Strategy was developed by the Department’s Enterprise and Industry Development Division (EIDD) and approved by the dti’s Executive Board on 29 January 2008.

The Strategy aims to improve global competitiveness, enhance exports, attract local and foreign investment, maintain and create employment, and encourage Broad-Based Black Economic Empowerment (B-BBEE) within the South African leather and footwear goods sectors.

MEMBER STATEMENT

The State Owned Enterprise (SOE) InfraCo has provided and expanded its cable connectivity services with their nationwide network as a strategic infrastructural asset to South Africa.

This aims to drive down the costs of telecommunications in the country. The fast connection using fibre-optic cables linking our domestic long distance network points has been added to strengthen our network coverage while the full service network was already in operation at the end of 2007.

This infrastructure with its lower cost implications will benefit our economy in a manner that will have numerous positive spin-offs.

The ANC and its government are committed to bringing better services to our people and will continuously monitor InfraCo’s mandate to bring down telecommunication cost.

Since its inception in 2005, Women in IT has awarded 5 bursaries to female students studying in the IT or ICT field and we are once again calling for motivations from female students entering their final year of studies in 2009.Women in IT consists of a bursary and mentorship programme that aims to grow and develop women within the information technology sector and it is our intention to award 5 bursaries for the 2009 period.

All motivations received will be reviewed and evaluated against the following criteria:

• A female student studying in the ICT or IT field and entering her final year of study in 2009
• An individual who is determined to succeed
• An individual who is financially disadvantaged
• An individual who wants to make an impact on the IT industry
• An individual who is a full-time student, and who is not currently employed

The Denel Centre for Learning and Development (DCLD) provides Training mostly for Aircraft Mechanics, where provision is made to develop the individual to a level where a license from the South African Civil Aviation Authority (SA-CAA ) could be issued. Other groups such as Operators, Engineers, Aviation Managers, Apprentices, Office Staff, Store staff and many more are trained.

DCLD offers thirty seven (37) courses approved by the local CAA and fifty (50) various Advanced Aviation courses accredited by the Aerospace Chamber reporting to the Transport Education and Training Authority. DCLD presents courses in the order of one thousand two hundred (1200) Mechanics/ Technicians per year.

The Denel Centre for Learning and Development (DCLD) is situated in Kempton Park - ± 5 km from Oliver Tambo International Airport (ORTIA).

The Centre incorporates 3 schools namely:

 • Denel Youth Foundation and Training Program
 • Apprenticeship School
